TurboTax MCP Server

The TurboTax connector is Intuit's official MCP integration for Anthropic's Claude, launched in 2026 as part of a broader multi-year partnership between Intuit and Anthropic. It brings TurboTax's tax preparation engine directly into Claude.ai and Claude Desktop, so users can ask tax questions in natural language and have Claude call into Intuit's tax tools to produce real-time estimates and next-step actions.

The connector exposes five capabilities: estimating federal tax refunds or amounts owed, recommending the right TurboTax product based on a user's situation, generating a personalized document checklist, capturing/uploading tax documents into TurboTax, and connecting the user to a live Intuit tax expert via Connect Now. Refund projections are powered by the same core calculation framework that TurboTax uses to process tens of millions of returns each year.

Unlike open-source MCP servers, this is a provider-hosted connector. There is no GitHub repo to clone or local server to run. Users install it from Claude's built-in Connectors directory and authenticate against their existing TurboTax account. The integration is available to all Claude tiers, including Claude.ai consumer plans and Claude for Enterprise, and is part of a wider Intuit MCP family that also includes QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp.

Tools

The TurboTax connector is a provider-hosted MCP integration installed from inside Claude. There is no command line setup or local server to run.

Prerequisites

• An active Anthropic Claude account (Claude.ai or Claude Desktop)
• A valid Intuit TurboTax account
• Claude Desktop updated to a version that supports Connectors

Install the connector

• Open Claude (Claude.ai web or Claude Desktop)
• Go to Profile > Settings > Connectors
• Search for Intuit TurboTax
• Click Connect or Install
• Complete the Intuit sign-in / OAuth consent flow when prompted

Once connected, the TurboTax tools become available to Claude in your chats. You can start a new conversation and ask tax questions; Claude will call the TurboTax tools as needed.

• Interactions with the connector are shared with Intuit and governed by the Intuit Privacy Statement.
• A direct server URL is not published for self-hosted MCP clients. The connector is distributed through Claude's official directory.
• For users who prefer a different surface, Intuit has also rolled out a similar TurboTax app inside ChatGPT.
