Lawve AI MCP Server
Provider-hosted MCP connector that exposes Lawve AI's catalog of practitioner-authored legal skills for contract review, NDA analysis, GDPR, and legal drafting.
Lawve AI (formerly Lawvable) maintains a curated library of legal AI skills written by practicing lawyers, in-house counsel, and legal technologists. A "skill" is a structured set of instructions that configures a general-purpose AI assistant to perform a specific legal task such as contract review, regulatory triage, or memorandum drafting. The Lawve AI MCP connector lets Claude search this catalog directly from a conversation so users can discover and preview the right skill for their task without leaving the assistant.
The connector provides read-only access to the Lawve AI skill catalog and supports natural language queries to browse skills by topic, workflow, or jurisdiction. Lawve AI was included in Anthropic's May 2026 release of Model Context Protocol connectors for legal work, alongside other legal data providers. The platform also hosts adjacent MCP servers for specific legal data sources, including Legal Data Hunter (multi-jurisdictional case law and legislation) and OpenLegi (French Legifrance PISTE API).
The service is notable for being a community-driven hub: skills are reviewed before publication, their full contents (instructions, references, configuration) are visible on the listing page before download, and most are released under permissive open-source licenses (MIT, Apache 2.0, AGPL). Certain skills published by firms or vendors may require a paid plan.

The Lawve AI MCP server is provider-hosted by Lawve AI and distributed as a Claude connector. There is no package to install locally.
Install via Claude connector UI:
- Open Claude and go to Settings, Connectors (or visit https://claude.ai/settings/connectors)
- Click "Add connector" and search for "Lawve AI", or open https://claude.com/connectors/lawve-ai
- Follow the OAuth flow to authorize access to the Lawve AI catalog
- The connector becomes available across the Claude web interface, desktop app, mobile app, Claude Code, and the Claude API
Use in Claude Code:
Run the following inside a Claude Code session and follow the OAuth prompt:
/mcp
Setup documentation: https://lawve.ai/en/learn/mcp-setup
Prerequisites:
- A Claude account (web, desktop, or API)
- A Lawve AI account for OAuth authorization
- Certain firm- or vendor-published skills may require a paid Lawve AI plan
Related Lawve AI MCP servers (separate from the main Lawve AI connector):
- Legal Data Hunter:
https://legaldatahunter.com/mcp(API key required, 18M+ legal documents across 110+ countries) - OpenLegi: French Legifrance PISTE API wrapper, listed at https://lawve.ai/en/mcp-servers/openlegi
- Find the right pre-built skill for a one-off legal task (NDA review, hiring handbook update, M&A checklist) without leaving Claude
- Discover jurisdiction-specific skills (e.g. French employment law, EU AI Act classification, GDPR data mapping) directly from a chat
- Preview a skill's methodology and license terms before installing it into a Claude Project or Custom GPT
- Route a complex legal question to the appropriate practitioner-authored workflow rather than relying on the model's general knowledge
- Stay current with newly published skills from firms, in-house counsel, and legal technologists in the Lawve AI community
- "Find a Lawve AI skill for reviewing a SaaS subscription agreement under English law."
- "Show me Lawve AI skills related to GDPR data subject requests."
- "Search Lawve AI for an EU AI Act classification workflow and summarize its methodology."
- "What French employment law skills are available on Lawve AI?"
- "Preview the licensing terms for the top-rated NDA triage skill on Lawve AI."
- Official connector distributed through Claude's connector directory, with OAuth-based setup and no local install
- Skills are authored and reviewed by practicing lawyers and legal technologists, with full contents visible before download
- Most skills are open-source under permissive licenses (MIT, Apache 2.0, AGPL), so they can be inspected, modified, and used in client work
- Works across Claude web, desktop, mobile, Claude Code, and the API
- Read-only: the connector lets you discover and preview skills but does not execute legal workflows directly; skills still need to be loaded into a Claude Project or equivalent
- Some skills published by firms or vendors require a paid Lawve AI plan
- Public technical documentation (exact server URL, tool schemas) is limited; setup is primarily through the Claude connector UI
- Output is positioned as drafts for attorney review, not legal advice, so it cannot replace professional review
- Legal Data Hunter MCP (also hosted by Lawve AI / World Wide Law): multi-jurisdictional case law and legislation search across 110+ countries
- CourtListener / Free Law Project MCP: U.S. case law, dockets, and PACER data exposed to Claude via MCP
- Thomson Reuters MCP integration: commercial legal research data inside Claude
